For the Mergers and Acquisitions the contestants are required to prepare a powerpoint presentation for 3 minutes in which they need to include:

  • The reason as to why you merged or acquired with the other b plan and its justification.
  • The strategies regarding the merger or acquisition.
  • The statistics regarding the same.

Additional Guidelines for PPT


1. Articulate the problems faced by the target market and how your product/service solves it.
2. Focus on the concept
3. How feasible is your product and how will you operationalize your plan
4. Give the pricing strategy clearly
5. For other aspects like Finance, it is not necessary to put up entire Balance sheet on the slide, but mention amount & structure of capital, projected revenue and profit in brief (in simple terms and not heavy accounting)
6. Similarly, give Marketing and HR strategy also in brief

NOTE: These guidelines are only for the PPT (powerpoint presentation) and NOT for the main report. The main report must contain all the aspects.

About- Megistanos 'The Entrepreneur'

Christ University was the first institution to introduce the event 'The Entrepreneur' at an under graduate level in the management fests. With the introduction of 'The Entrepreneur' the business management fest was taken a notch higher.
'The Entrepreneur' requires participants to design innovative and feasible business ideas. The event is centered around  the participant's ability to conceptualize inventive products and services and face situations that may arise in their ventures.
This time 'The Entrepreneur' is coming as the Megistanos for Esprit-09. Megistanos will make sure that the best rules! The event is framed on the lines of Aristokratia which happens to be the theme for Esprit this year.
Being a conglomerate of traditional business fest events The Entrepreneur' examines not only a contestants marketing, financial and HR skills but also their ability to conceptualize, establish and manage a business enterprise in a real time scenario.
Apart from serious business Megistanos intends to track down the businessmen hidden behind you in the most enthralling manner!

Task 1- Business Plan

Task Details


Participants are required to prepare a comprehensive business proposal. Details of the task is as follows:
1. B-Plan (Format given below)- innovative and feasible B-Plan
2. Two Print Ads based on the B-Plan
3. Four minute PPT on the B-plan (Concept, Target Market, Pricing, HR, Marketing, Finance)

B-plan must be emailed by 15th September, 7 AM sharp
Print ads and the PPT should be emailed by 15th September, 1 PM sharp

Participants need to carry a hard copy of the entire B-Plan (including the print ads)
when they come on 16th September

The report should be complete in all respects and the participants should be in a position to justifiably answer any questions that may be put up on the same. The B-plan same will be evaluated by partners of leading Venture Capitalist & Private Equity firms.

B-Plan Format

1. Executive Summary
The executive summary should contain a description of the business idea. Participants are reminded that they should not limit their scope to physical products only. The business plan may be centered on a product, service or even an inventive idea. It is imperative that the proposal is morally and ethically sound. The executive summary should not be limited to a mere description of the business idea but must also include a brief of how the participant intends to operationalize his idea.

• Sales tactics

HUMAN RESOURCE PLAN
• How many members or partners, Organisational Structure.
• Number of employees in each department- total headcount
• Training procedure and implementation

 EXECUTION PLAN:
• Management team
• Implementation strategy
• Operational strategies-you are encouraged to build your own strategies.



INITIAL CAPITAL INVESTMENT:
• Borrowed capital
• Owners fund
• Any other funds like VC etc.

FINANCIAL PLAN:
• Balance sheet (projected for 3 years)
• Profit & Loss A/c (projected for 3 years)
• Break even analysis
• Cost structure
-Start up costs
-Capital costs
-Operating costs
-Projected return on investment.

RISK ANALYSIS:
Examples: Inflationary risks, Business risk, Financial risk
